Oncology is a specialist business unit which aims to discover and develop innovative medicines that improve and extend the lives of people with cancer. Novartis Oncology medicines treat haematologic and solid tumour diseases, and rarer cancers, and has a strong product pipeline.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of National Healthcare Development Manager to join the new products franchise of the oncology business unit. This role reports directly to the Business Franchise Head and will lead the Oncology Healthcare team as well as being instrumental in strategic shaping of our payor environment.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABLITIES

• Lead a team of 8 Healthcare Managers nationally to shape the NHS environment for forthcoming product launches through the NHS budget planning process.
• Create and maintain both strategic and operational relationships with influential NHS customers to enhance the influence position of the Oncology unit.
• Work with the Business Franchise Head and leadership team to develop Oncology’s local market access strategy by bringing field insights into Head Office.
• Lead the Healthcare team to secure adequate funding and positive policy, (including formularies and guidelines) at the point of launch of oncology products.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Proven experience in a Healthcare management role.
• Working within Oncology environment would be advantageous, although specialty experience would also be considered.
• Excellent experience of NHS environment and funding as well as financial planning/budgeting cycles.
• Has the ability to create and deliver value to the business as well as provide excellent business/commercial acumen.
