Werner Wenning, the former chairman and CEO of Bayer, is set to return to the German-based pharmaceutical company this autumn to chair its Supervisory Board.
Mr Wenning chaired the company’s management board between 2002 and 2010 concluding nearly 45 years at Bayer.
He will succeed Dr Manfred Schneider in October after the latter’s five-year term. It’s proposed that Mr Wenning would become chairman of the Supervisory Board until 2017.
The 65-year-old started at Bayer at a trainee and was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility. He helped establish Bayer’s Peruvian subsidiary and also served as managing director of Bayer’s largest company in Spain.
Sue Rataj and Thomas Ebeling have also been nominated for election to the Supervisory Board.
