Pharmaceutical giant Roche has appointed Sophie Kornowski-Bonnet as Head of Partnering.
Formerly General Manager of Roche Pharma in France for five years, Kornowski-Bonnet will now be based at the company’s headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.
Kornowski-Bonnet replaces Dan Zabrowski, who will take over as Head of Roche Applied Science at its site in Penzberg, Germany.
Partnering is increasingly important for Roche’s global expansion: the company recently collaborated with PCT Therapeutics to develop treatments for spinal muscular atrophy, and with several Zurich universities to establish a translational research centre.
Severin Schwan, CEO of the Roche Group, said Kornowski-Bonnet had made “tremendous contributions not only to the business but also to the development of a strong R&D hub in France”.
Before joining Roche, Kornowski-Bonnet led Sanofi’s neurology and psychiatry unit in France before joining MSD, where she led the company’s global marketing for osteoarthritis and pain management.
Dan Zabrowski has been with Roche since 1994, holding several management positions in pharmaceutical development. In this new role, he will work with customers in the academic field and the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
