Aegate has appointed former Director General of the ABPI Dr Richard Barker in a senior adviser role and Michael Peace as its new CEO.
The pair will assist the company in addressing the new measures against counterfeit products after the implementation of new EU rules on falsified medication.
Sir David Cooksey, Chairman of Aegate, says Dr Barker’s “substantial pharmaceutical industry expertise will be invaluable” as the company introduces new legislation.
Dr Barker, who stepped down from his role at the ABPI in May 2011, has a number of years’ experience within the pharmaceutical industry. He currently acts as an advisor to a number of healthcare companies and recently received an OBE for services to the UK pharmaceutical industry in the Queen’s New Year Honours list.
Mr Peace, the former Head of Asia for Thomson Reuters’ Financial Markets Business, replaces Gary Noon, who spent six years in charge of the company.
Aegate provides authentication and traceability services for the pharmaceutical industry.
